John Eiland is a Master’s prepared registered nurse who joined the Ofstead team as a Senior Research Associate in 2014. Mr. Eiland has 40 years of health care experience in both military and civilian hospitals. He spent over 20 years working on infection prevention in the Army Nurse Corps before retiring as a lieutenant colonel. He last served as the Chief of Clinical Services in the Department of Surgery at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. After retiring from the Army, Mr. Eiland spent nine years as a Hospital Surveyor for The Joint Commission, where he obtained expertise in federal compliance requirements for healthcare facilities. He has presented at national conferences and co-authored multiple papers related to infection prevention, patient care, and surgical preparation.
As a Senior Research Associate at Ofstead, Mr. Eiland collaborates with our multidisciplinary team to design and conduct studies and interventions intended to improve the quality of medical care and improve patient safety. He also provides expertise on infection prevention and regulatory compliance initiatives.
