Rebecca Horton, DPT

Dr. Horton is a physical therapist who has experience working with diverse patient populations. She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in 2005.

Dr. Horton's clinical experience has included outpatient orthopedics, acute care hospital, transitional care and inpatient rehabilitation units. She spent one year on the stroke unit of the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. Dr. Horton then advanced her clinical skills with a site rotating position at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview. She returned to her passion of inpatient acute rehabilitation in April 2007, where she treats patients with diagnoses including stroke, conversion disorder, orthopedic surgeries, non-traumatic spinal cord injury, and transplants. Dr. Horton is also a proctor for physical therapy students at the Phillips Neighborhood Clinic - a clinic run by University of Minnesota health professional students. Prevention of falls within the hospital and home, as well as clinical education of physical therapy students are her areas of interest.

Dr. Horton gained extensive research experience as a Research Assistant at Ofstead & Associates, Inc. from 1999-2002. She provided critical research and support on diverse client projects, and co-authored the OFSTEADinsights(R) Diabetes Resource Guide.

As one of our Associates, Dr. Horton provides consultation related to orthopedic, neurological, and rehabilitation projects.
