Ms. Amelang joined the Ofstead team as a Research Associate in 2013. She has research experience in public health and the social sciences.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology with a concentration in Community and Global Health from Macalester College. After completing her degree, Ms. Amelang served with the AmeriCorps VISTA program in Minneapolis, providing health education to high school students. While studying at Macalester, she worked as a patient educator at the Family Tree Clinic in Saint Paul. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Health in the Public Health Administration and Policy Program at the University of Minnesota.
Since being promoted to Research Projects Manager, Ms. Amelang supports the research team by managing project deadlines and deliverables, assessing the quality of output, and monitoring emerging developments in the field. She coordinates our research in long-term care facilities, including the Vaccination Intervention for Nursing Assistants and Aides. Ms. Amelang collaborates with our multidisciplinary team to design and conduct studies and interventions intended to improve the quality of medical care and improve patient safety.
