Mr. Heymann joined the Ofstead team in the fall of 2013. He has research experience in historical medicine, social sciences, and public health.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology, Society, and Environment with a concentration in public health as well as a minor in French from the University of Minnesota, Twin-Cities. Mr. Heymann participated in a public health program in Cape Town, South Africa studying social justice, with an emphasis on socioeconomic perspectives. While abroad, he also worked on a community development project in the township known as Khayelitsha at an early intervention organization called “The Homestead,” helping street children and adolescents reconstruct their lives. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Health in the Industrial Hygiene Program at the University of Minnesota, Twin-Cities.
As a Research Associate, Mr. Heymann supports the research team in identifying, compiling, and organizing the scientific literature, and performing studies on the quality and outcomes of healthcare.
